Although I worked a late shift last night, I ended my day with a pretty interesting assignment. A massive public safety drill took place after hours at the Galleria in Glendale on Friday, November 9, 2012. Police officers from Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena and some other surrounding cities participated in this training session at the mall. Volunteers who acted as shoppers took part in the drill and officers were tested and critiqued on how well they responded to certain scenarios presented to them. Police officers entered the mall in groups, attempting to find the gunmen in the mall and helping victims. Of course, guns were unloaded and gunmen shot blanks during the drill.
